the past:
though i was born near bourbonnais ill i moved to stockton ca at the age of seven and spent my growing years in that east-of-the-east-bay valley town. however i spent much of my free time in san francisco, oakland, berkeley and santa cruz. in 1999 i moved to santa cruz to attend school. since september 1st i have been living in kensington, south of park slope in brooklyn and looking for jobs in media.
education:
i graduated from the unviersity of california at santa cruz with a Bachelor of Arts in film and digital media. while at ucsc i was a member of the film production concentration.
work experience:
i've worked in various positions as computer support tech and web designer.
for the past four years i've been employeed by ucsc
first as a teaching assistant (hence my handle ncooperta being my first inital, last name and "ta": my occupation )
and then in the film production office.
working in the fdm checkout lab
for the last 3 years has given me a lot of management experience not only over the
lab's employees and equipment but also the lab's databases and website slugfilm

ncooperta:
ncooperta has been a handle i've used online since around 2003. it's etymological roots come from an email i used while working as a teaching assistant at the university of california at santa cruz. the handle can be understood as a combination of my first inital and last name [n] + [cooper] and my job at the time [ta]. that job was quite defining for me and ever since i've seen myself as a mentor, teacher, trainer of some sort or another. the handle can be seen in most of my contact info.

Huey Long Folk hero. His life reminds me of a Frank Capra movie.
Jim Jarmusch Filmmaker. His use of fade to black is the most apt representation of how life progresses.
